Story Behind The Song
I was remembering my youth as a teenager, holidaying on the beach at Langland Bay, Swansea on the Gower peninsula and watching all the young people enjoying themselves, as did I.

Lyrics
YOUNG SUMMER LOVE
Words and Music by Mary Cole Grimley
VERSE 1
Young, Summer Love,
Wild and warm and free,
Surfing in the ocean,
Playing in the sand.
Young, Summer Love,
Strolling round the cliffs,
Gently kissing in the sunset,
Loving until dawn.
CHORUS
But know that young, summer love won't last for ever.
Its dewy grapes must turn to Autumn wine.
Though older souls watch the days grow shorter,
Dream endless summer in the sand,
Young, Summer Love.
VERSE 2
Young, Summer Love,
Full of hope and joy,
Keep your spirits soaring,
Treasure every day.
Young, Summer Love,
Linger fierce and free.
Bask in lazy sunlight.
Each day - a souvenir.
CHORUS
But know that young, summer love won't last for ever.
Its dewy grapes must turn to Autumn wine.
Though older souls watch the days grow shorter,
Dream endless summer in the sand,
Young, Summer Love.
( Sax. instrumental bridge )
VERSE 3
Young, Summer Love,
Glinting in the sun,
All these silver moments
Turn gold in memory.
CHORUS
But know that young, summer love won't last for ever.
Its dewy grapes must turn to Autumn wine.
Though older souls watch the days grow shorter,
Dream endless summer in the sand,
Young, Summer Love.
TAG ENDING
Dream endless dreams -
Young, Summer Love.
