Story Behind The Song

Mu father-in-law who was served in two wars told me he always looked forward to returning home to a nice roast beef dinner and soft sheets on his bed. That thought inspired Mary to write this song.

Song Description

A mother celebrates when she hears her son is returning from war and gets ready to welcome him home. A husband also celebrates when he hears his soldier wife is returning home and gets ready to spoil her at home.
