Lyrics
( How I love ) THANKSGIVING IN THE RAIN
Words and Music by Mary Cole Grimley. Arranged by Greg Garrett.
Verse 1
Who'd have thought
I'd love Thanksgiving in the Rain?
Not me. Not me.
Who'd have dreamed
I'd laugh with raindrops
Spilling down the window pane?
Not me.
Thought I was the kind of girl
Loved turkey, favored mink and pearls
Needed all the trimming and champagne.
But that was before we kissed...
Chorus
How I love Thanksgiving in the Rain.
With you, I love Thanksgiving in the Rain.
Verse 2
Who'd have thought
I'd love clothes dripping by the fire?
Not me. Not me.
Who'd have known
One person could fulfill
All I desire?
Not me.
Cuddled here against your skin,
The rain without, the fire within,
There's nothing more I require.
Keep holding me close like this...
Chorus
How I love Thanksgiving in the Rain!
With you, I love Thanksgiving in the Rain!
Bridge
Your love keeps me secure
Even in blinding storms, safe and warm.
I give thanks for you,
Glad, laughter in the rain will always see us through!
Instrumental Bridge
Chorus
How I love Thanksgiving in the Rain!
With you, I love Thanksgiving in the Rain!
Verse 3
Cuddled here against your skin,
The rain without, the fire within,
There's nothing more I require.
Keep holding me close like this...
Chorus
How I love Thanksgiving in the Rain!
With you, I love Thanksgiving in the Rain!
