Story Behind The Song
Too often today the president, congress, local politicians, etc. worry more about being elected than accomplishing something. Where did real leaders like Abraham Lincoln go? I wanted to write a song raising the question.
Song Description
It bothers me that so many politicians are partisan to the point of being unable to think for themselves. They are, in fact, followers not leaders. They follow the party line and will not think for themselves. Re-election is their only goal! This song questions their motives and asks "why be one?" (a politician") if the person does not care about the greater good!
