Story Behind The Song
When writing the song I was reminded of a Twilight Zone episode involving mannequins. This song brings that story into the 21st century.
Song Description
The Mannequin Man is about either a man that questions whether his existence has been so dehumanized by society and technology that his thoughts are controlled by the constant bombardment of internet hype and outrageous stories. Or, he is a cyborg that was created with such human feelings that he thinks he is human. In any event, he wants to benefit society by being transpersonal.

Lyrics
The Mannequin Man
Music and Lyrics by Jim Krochka
The Mannequin Man standing so still
Does he have his own will?
People passing by look him in the eye
He wants to ask them why
Assembled many years ago
So much does he know
Lookin' out through his glass eyes
He is more than a jointed model
When lookers leave he comes to life
Enjoying time at any price
The Mannequin Man (echo) has a plan (echo)
Not having to worry about fate
Timeless - he can wait
Posing as he must while on display
Immortal - he doesn't count each day
His life shall be exceptional
According to plan, he is transpersonal
Lookin' out through his glass eyes
He is more than a jointed model
When lookers leave he comes to life
Enjoying time at any price
The Mannequin Man (echo) has a plan (echo)
Touch me if you can
Feel my warmth, hold my hand
So many questions to ask
But in time you'll understand
The Mannequin Man wants to please
Ever so compliant with ease
Lookin' out through his glass eyes
He is more than a jointed model
When lookers leave he comes to life
Enjoying time at any price
The Mannequin Man (echo) has a plan (echo)
