With strong melodies and meaningful lyrics, D'Simone's music takes you on an incredible journey that explores the ups and downs of life and the emotions we all struggle to make sense of. As the son of a music arranger/producer, D'Simone was introduced to the world of music at an early age and spent much of his youth in New York recording studios. After high school he attended Berklee, formed a band that quickly earned a coveted spot on Boston's "Top 10 Live Bands" list, and started making records in studios he designed and built himself. Eventually, his path led him back to New York, where he currently lives, records and plays.

D'SIMONE

Singer, songwriter, arranger, producer ~
Charles D'Simone is an artist with an impressive list of talents and an infectious sound that leaves listeners wanting to hear more. His songs are powerful and insightful, sharing the joy and pain of the human condition in a way that is meaningful and personal for everyone. His voice evokes a level of passion and intensity that make his live performances a deeply moving and unforgettable experience.

D'Simone's love affair with music began when he was a young boy growing up in the suburbs of New Jersey. As the son of a veteran music arranger/producer, he spent much of his youth in recording studios hanging out with some of the biggest artists of the 70s and 80s. By the time he was in his early teens he was writing his own songs and knew music was something he wanted to pursue.

During his high school years, while most of his classmates were on the football field, D'Simone could be found on the stage of the auditorium banging out Elton John and Billy Joel tunes on the grand piano. He dreamed about moving to Boston and attending Berklee College of Music, and once he graduated from high school that's exactly what he did.

At Berklee, D'Simone was exposed to the world of rock and roll music that he had read about in Rolling Stone magazine. Within a few months of arriving in Boston, he formed a band and started playing in local clubs. He spent the next several years developing his talent as a musician, songwriter and live performer, building a devoted fan base and earning a coveted spot on Boston's "Top 10 Live Bands" list. Long before other local bands thought about recording their own music, D'Simone was learning how to make records with his band mates and recording in studios that he designed and built. He quickly became known for his recording and production skills, and started working with many local and national musicians. As time went on, he found himself taking on the role of engineer and producer more and more.

In the mid 90s, D'Simone decided it was time for a change and moved to New York. He rented a large apartment and converted half of it into a recording studio. Within a few months he had settled into New York's Indie music scene and was recording and producing a number of artists, which was great, but left very little time for his own music. A songwriter at heart, he struggled to balance his role as a producer with his desire to pursue his own music. The songs were piling up in his head, though, and after a while, he knew what he needed to do.

In April of 2012, after several years of writing and recording, he released 'Sleepwalking,' a 12-track album featuring a mix of emotional rock ballads and piano-driven melodies. Soon after he began recording again and playing live in New York with a group of very talented musicians. Over the last year he's released several singles and is working towards releasing his second album in late 2015.

Hi D'Simone. Just been lucky enough to have reviewed Obstacles. How could I give it any less than I have?? A great song. I'll have a listen to some more very soon.
All the best from a cold wet England

Hey Maureen...thanks so much for taking time to check out my music. I love getting feedback, especially from other songwriters. Both of those tunes will be on my debut CD, which I've been recording over the past year and hope to release this spring. All the best ~ D

Thanks for your review of my tune Grab The Moment, D'Simone. I'm glad you liked the guitar line at the intro. If I get the chance, I'll go back and pull it forward in the mix after the choruses, as you suggested.

Liked your tracks Let it Fly and Sleepwalking (especially the soaring chorus on the latter), but Desert Rain wouldn't play. Does it play for you from Broadjam, or is there a problem somewhere?
