Hi. How are you? Good? Good. If you like melodic, non-threatening, indie pop rock and black widows, then you're in the right place. By all means, snoop around.
Bio
Initially a sound engineer by trade, Michael Vecchio soon grew tired of watching the music-making process from the sidelines. He launched a solo career and played shows around the Los Angeles area. A friend from college, pianist Nichole Catalano-Miller, was simultaneously pursuing a songwriting career, and the two joined forces in 2006. While playing a show as the Rainbow Bar and Grill, the duo attracted the attention of club booker Mike Rofé, who promptly joined Vekstar as the band's drummer. Everybody's High on Complication introduced Vekstar's mournful, manicured sound in 2005, and the Monday Mourning EP followed two years later. Vekstar gigged regularly in southern California through 2007. Later that year, Michael moved to Nashville to build a recording studio and focus on his songwriting. Vekstar is active in the Nashville music scene releasing singles and playing locally with players such as drummer, Vince Gard (from the band Mona), and vocalist, Leslie Vecchio (Michael's wife). Behind the board, Michael has produced demos for local up-and-coming bands such as The Weeks and Sleeper Agent. Currently, Michael is recording and producing Vekstar's next EP in his Nashville recording studio. Vekstar's songs have been featured in a Chevy Volt television spot and ABC's "The Good Wife" as well as a handful of other TV shows and films.
