"When you're kind to me" is just ****ing incredible. I LOVE this.
Thanks so much! I'll tell the singer Emily. :)
It really is a great song, Tim. You have such a unique style. Nice job!
Ah man, ya'll are making blush! Thank ya'll for listenin'. *e-hugs*
why do I listen? not to make comment. my reason is far more selfish. I listen for adventure and pure pleasure. enjoy. . .
and, what a joy it is to imagine who you are based solely upon the aural pictures you paint. . .
So that's where Massachusetts is! I didn't have a very good geography teacher.
Yes, that's where it is, Joe. Can I call ya Joe?
BTW: synapse offered a great Trick or Treat podcast if you haven't made the visit. . . .
Call me watcha like, just don't call me late for dinner. (yeah, i know- I need a need a new joke bag). I'm Tim, btw And Happy Hollerween to ya! May ya get lots of candy and may your house be tp'ed on a dry night. :o
is 'Tim' short for timid or tympany? (BTW: my youngest bro is Timothy - TJ)
I attempted to visit the podcast and got a message that there was too much traffic! Not a bad sign! Will try again today, though.
Tim is short for Timalicious. My mom had lots of mindless pop formula foresight. Sorry about the podcast. I'd like to think I sent them so much traffic, it crashed. But I have a feeling a certain hurricane may beg to differ. (it looks ok now, btw) http://spuncounterguy.podbean.com/ 1
How and where can I buy your music?
Ah dang. Nowhere really but I can email you some tracks if you like. Send me your email and let me know which ones ya want. Thanks for the encouragement! :)
So a couple months ago after you replied I made a list of all the tracks I liked but after making the list I realized I didn't have a way to send it to you.
Cute fox song! Great banjo work, especially!
THX, ST - glad you enjoyed the parody
Mr. Tim. I wanna Fly is Supercool! Speakin in tongues, Gospel and Salesdudes all in one! You might likes ourn Fishblood....- Fever
Thanks for making laugh out loud with Fish Blood. You also made me hungry.
thanks for the add, nice site.. Ario
Listened to Through My Door a few times this morning. Perfect for this rainy day.
Thank you! I actually wanted the piano to sound like rain falling ;)
Well done, Dianne. My hands are jealous of your light touch on the piano. I have a clunky touch. UnJ5- I'm laughing out loud about this. Sounds like a creepy film title. Hmmm...
I wish I could say it was me playing piano, but unfortunately it's not. I'm the one playing crappy guitar in the first version. I was pretty bossy with the pianist, though! ;-)
Well put! The pianist never would've nail it right unless us producer-type were breathing down their necks, not letting them have food or water until they got it right! ;)
Yeah, I am one intimidating chick! He was actually my piano teacher years ago, so I wasn't too pushy but I did politely ask him to make it sound like rain.
I wonder what my piano teacher's doing these days. I think I pushed her into early retirement. Probably hugging a pillow and rocking, chanting, "So clunky...so clunky..."
Ha ha ha... clunky's where it's at!
Just listened to Belly Sickening Sound. How you guys took so many different genres and made them work together is something to behold.
You are too kind! It all came about when I was talking to Walt (the rapper) about how we both grew up listening to Hank Jr and Run DMC. Thanks so much for the encouragement. :)
just listening to Appreciate Me again, and I still love this song !!!
Thanks so much Rob. You like make me feel...well, appreciated! Hope all is well with you and your athletes!
Thanks for reviewing my song. You were kinder than I would've been- it's a pretty weird unmarketable track I'm guessing. Also, I love your track Expressions. Great sense of melody and ear candy. Your fellow Tennessean (me uprooted), Synapse Trap
Thanks for your review! And I agree with you thoughts absolutely. Thanks for your time. :)
Thanks for taking the time for reviewing. Also thanks for the kind words and suggestions. :)
Hey Tim..Love that French song =) How are ya?
Wow! That's so great you've found me! I'm good. Still in the land of Chiner but hope to return soon. You & Missy still in Kentuckland?
Great stuff, my friend! I wish I could play guitbox as well as ya. What part of the UK are you from? And thanks for the nice reviews too.
Hey, From the frozen north 60 miles east of John and Paul !! Keep your songs coming.....you're going to number 1 ! Cheers Laurence
Thanks for the thorough review. It's true we need some some mixing and mastering help. I think if I ever got rich, the first thing I'd do after buying mama a house would be to hire pros to the music up to snuff. Also nice to hear from a fellow Tennessean. :)
I hope our review was helpful. We try to honest yet respectful and supportive. Nice thought about buying your mama a house...then the music...says a lot about you that we like! We live in Waverly, about 80 miles west of Nashville. Good luck with your music! Di & Al
Thanks so much for you kind review. It only encourages us to make more! :)
Congrats on Belly Sickening Sound ! Love your stuff Rob
Thanks so much Rob! I don't understand how these charts work but I'll take it. How's your own music going? Achieving your goals? I'm always curious how other indie musicians measure their dreams.
Same here, I got no idea how it works ! lol. Musically my goals are pretty high, so nowhere near it yet. I actually coach pole vaulting, so the goals of my athletes are easier to rate lol. Anything "arty" is always hard to gauge I think, so we all just keep trying, anyone can write a good song, we've gotta write a few great ones ! That's the secret haha
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'll look for your students at the olympics, yeah?
None of mine, but Steve Hookers in and a friend of mine's, Alana Boyd, is in the womens vault, I'll keep you posted lol
Glad to have found you guys, we are bumping it in SoCal!
Thanks so much!
All full of doubt has just gone into Top Ten but thanks for the review
Thanks so much for your kind words and time in reviewing the song. :)
Thanks for your thoughts and time in reviewing the song. :)
It was nice to hear and participate, I am a fan of latin and ethnic movements.I love harmonies! Have a great day!
You are kind! Thanks for you time and encouragement with the review. :)
Oh- and it's friend's (Ryan Thies) same voice on the harmonies except on the end, where I help a little. You've got a thorough ear!
Your welcome...DBR
Glad you dig the banjo- it's actually a senxin, which is the Chinese equal. Thanks for your time and thoughts!
After reading some of the comments about use of Chinese and other unusual instruments and sounds, I checked the first three songs on your page. Great material. Fascinating atmospherics that the listener can close their eyes and drift with; and that blues/Chinese/Hip Hop tune is priceless. In an ever more homogenized music world, you've got a great thing going here. Have you ever heard the album "Resolving Contradictions" by Andy Mackay of Roxy Music? Just curious. It was sort of a saxophone extravaganza with Chinese theme and sounds. One of the songs on the album, by the way was "The Luoyang Tractor Factory."
Man- that's the most appropriate compliment a guy could give at this time. I sometimes get discouraged I can't make music that's a little more assimilated. I'll keep on keepin' on, though! I don't know that album but I live about one block from the Luoyang Tractor factory, for real! It's got a big statue of Mao and everything in the front. Now I'm curious how anyone would know about that. I shall investigate. Thanks for the tip cause some of my students would get a kick out of knowing this. Lastly, I've been listening to your tracks here- very trippy and atmospheric. Especially dig 'Ninth World'- it takes me away from the chaos in China. I'll check out some more of your stuff soon. Thanks again, truly.
I sometimes get discouraged, too. I'm sure we all do, but I'm not sure it's such a bad thing. It seems to me that periods of discouragement are often followed by breakthroughs that might not happen if progress were a flat line. You've got some very interesting material though, you have good reason to be optimistic. I heard some excellent character and tones to the songs, and thought that Eo Flight Terminal, for example, had a very interesting development that seemed very organic as the song progressed. The Andy Mackay album was done in the mid to late 70's, after he took a trip to China. It features music with that theme. I suspect he visited the Tractor Factory. Probably not very authentic Chinese music, but more a blend of Chinese influence done in a more western, almost rock way, using saxophone, violin, oboe, reed flute, etc.
The interesting thing about the tractor factory is that it was initiated by Chairman Mao (one of the few things he instigated that didn't result in millions of deaths) but he himself never set foot in LuoYang. This is because in spite of he being a good atheist Marxist, he was still superstitious and since his name means "Red Sun" and LuoYang means "Sun falls down", well... That's probably more than you wanted to know but there it is. Thanks again for the kind words! :)
Not more than I wanted to know. Gives me some extra background next time I listen to that song. Thanks.
youre osume good jobe
Yeah it's a dark, strange no doubt. Thanks for the kind review! :)
Thanks for the kind review. The synth is just my determination to marry folky stuff and electronic stuff. Still, I appreciate your honesty! :)
No problem, Appreciate Me is a great song.
Thanks for your honest thoughts and your time for the review! :)
Thank you. I know you'd do the same for me.
You nailed it- I'm more a fan of their keyboardist Ray than the others in the Doors. Thanks for your time!
