Welcome to my page! I'm a lyrics-first songwriter who's been writing songs since age 11, with many of my earliest songs coming to life in my grandfather's studio. Music has always been a part of my life, but this year I've had the chance to dive in more deeply. Along the way, my songs have landed on the Broadjam Top 10 charts, earned a songwriter's contest win, multiple Top 5 placements, and a sync library selection. I've picked out a few of my favorites to share here along with 2 of my grandparents songs (People Talk & That Man is Mine) for some fun and history.

I had a great time at our jam session! We played "Jolene" to honor Dolly. Dolly was known for so many things, but I have a whole new appreciation for what an incredible guitarist she was. That iconic "Jolene" riff is SO good. And she played guitar with nails?!? =O

Backstory
Welcome to my page! I'm a lyrics-first songwriter who's been writing songs since 11, with many of my earliest songs coming to life in my grandpa's studio. I got my first guitar at 8, when my mom taught me my first chords to "Teddy Bear" by Barbara Fairchild. I was already analyzing lyrics at that age. I wasn't nearly as interested in the guitar as I was about that Teddy Bear we were singing about. I had questions.
At 11, I sang my first song in a studio, "Daddy's Hands" by Holly Dunn. My grandma later taught me piano after finding me at her piano, trying to play one of my songs by ear. Piano became my favorite instrument at that time, and I've always kept a keyboard around. I picked up ukulele as an adult, and more recently, my love for guitar has reignited. I've connected with a guitar community, and that is where I'm spending a good amount of my pastime these days.
Music, for me, is connection to people, places, and time - both past and present. It has always been part of my life, but this year I've had the chance to dive in more deeply. Along the way, my songs have landed on Broadjam's Top 10 charts, earned a songwriter contest win, multiple Top 5 placements, and a sync library selection.
My songwriting bucket list would be a co-write on Music Row. I'd love to see how the wheels turn in writing rooms and experience that creative process firsthand. I think it would be incredibly fun, with so much opportunity to learn.
