Where it all began:

This Timeless Voyage project started back in the Dec of 2000, when Vinny Barbardo & Larry Gilbert teamed up and put a small studio together in Larry?s spare bedroom. Eventually they outgrew the bedroom studio and moved it into the basement. A second basement studio was installed at Vinny?s house.

The Music was & is very experimental, and both Vinny & Larry were learning about desktop music production along the way. Their first endeavor was a concept album about Good verses Evil in the world today. On this album were also George Mathes who played guitar on one track, and Frank Hoover playing drums on a couple of tracks. Vinny & Larry co-wrote each song. The Album was titled ?Cries from a Tortured World? and completed in Dec of 2003.

After that first project was completed, Larry went on to record two solo projects. The first being ?Shelter of Life? & the second ?Journey Beyond Time?. At the same time Vinny was busy writing and putting together his own solo material.

From May 2004 to June 2005 Larry teamed up with his good friend since the early 70's Don Devlin for the second Timeless Voyage album titled ?Life Cycle?. The Life Cycle project is about the constant struggles we face in life. From when we first come to be in this world, to when we are called home by God. All songs were written by Don & Larry. Except ?Last Day on Earth? a Marilyn Manson cover, sung by Larry?s Brother Pat (who died in Sep of 2004), and acoustic guitar was played by Pat?s friend Ray.

At one point Vinny Barbardo rejoined the team along with Don Devlin & Larry Gilbert to record the third Timeless Voyage project titled ?Improvsynation?. The direction for this album is sort of an improvisation type. The first track is complete titled ?Into the Realm?.

As of 2015 Don & Larry became the key and only writing force of TV and in 2015 released their new EP "Audio Illusion".

Now it is July of 2015 and we are back in the studio working on Audio Illusion 2. And Vinny Barbardo has rejoined us to add additional lush guitars & bass and help write this project.

Don's Bio:

It all started with Steppenwolf ?Born to be wild?, "Magic carpet ride? and I was only 12 years old. And from that point all I wanted to do was to Rock & Listen to music. Growing up in Phila, with the rich music diversity of Motown, Jazz, Rock, & Funk which created a fusion of music that I had to explore. So I spent most of my time listening and learning the art of music. And when I heard of the band ?Yes? all I wanted to do from that point on was to Sing & Play. So I bought a 12 string Acoustic Gibson guitar and learned all I could. Now after 30 plus years, being married and having kids, I never had the time to pursue the creative side, my love for music. Approx. 2 years ago I hooked up with my life long friend Larry after the death of his brother Pat. I realized that Larry built his own studio and he asked me to do vocals for some of our music. And so here we are, and hope we don?t disappoint you.

Vinny Barbardo

When I turned 13 back in 1981 I had no idea my life would change forever. I had heard on the radio that Ozzy had a new band featuring Randy Rhodes on guitar. The first time I listened to "Crazy Train" I was hooked. I knew I had to play guitar, so I tortured my parents for a guitar & lessons. Around 8 months later I had discovered why God made girls. I quickly lost interest in guitar lessons and quit playing. When I turned 18 I met my future best friend Brian Kelso. Brian was an incredible guitar player and had no problem teaching me to play. I eventually joined his band "Seducer" and played clubs in Philly. We recorded a 5 song demo and life was good. When the broke up, my dreams of being a rock star ended. I got married and my guitar took a back seat again. Soon after my wife (Larry's sister) gave birth to twin boys and playing was the last thing on my mind. After about five years I started to miss my guitar. I picked it up, blew off the dust and started playing again.

In 2002 my wife gave birth to my third son. Medical problems led to his death 18 days later. I took a break from Timeless Voyage and instead of quitting, I poured myself into my playing and I started to write lyrics. I am currently working on a 10 song album. One of the tracks "Heaven's Gate" is about my son. In the future I hope to the songs on my own website.

Larry's Bio:

I was bit by the music bug at a very young age. I think I was like 11 or 12 when my Aunt Ronnie gave me two Rolling Stones Albums ?High Tides and Green Grass? & ?Aftermath?. And after listening to them I knew that I wanted to do something with music. The first Album I bought for myself was David Bowie?s ?Ziggy Stardust?, and my first Concert was Rod Stewart and the Faces back in 1973. From that point I started forming ideas about what I wanted to do in music since I wasn?t a musician but always loved the technology or the creativity behind the music. I knew that I wanted to be an audio engineer. So in 1981 I went to school for electronics and got my FCC License. My intention was that I would get a gig in a radio or TV Station while continuing my education towards a recording engineer. But I couldn?t land a job so I joined the Navy to further my education in electronics, but I found out that I am color blind and could not get into the electronic field. So I took a chance anyway and enlisted in the hopes of getting a waiver for my eyes, but that was a no go. For the 10 years that I served I was doing something that I did not want to do in life carrier wise. The best thing that happened to me while in was meeting my Lovely wife Vina. So after the Navy I was going from job to job, and decided to go back to school. This time was for PC repair although I originally intended to take electronics but there was not enough people signed up for that. I currently work as a Technical Service Rep for the Phila Regional MLS. About 5 years ago my Brother in Law Vinny & I were talking about music, and I told him that I would love to be able to record. So I purchased Cakewalk SW and Vinny & I started writing and recording songs that we put together. Through these 5 years I learned to play the keyboard, took an online class ?music theory 101? at Berklee, and continue to learn the art of recording.
