Story Behind The Song

The year was 1993, and I was preparing to be married in less than a year. I felt a special muse, and wrote a poem under my pen name 'Eduard McIntosh'. I named the poem 'To Hold You' and wondered about formatting it in such a way that it coule be sung. It did not happen at that time, but the poem stayed with me. Years later, in 2000, I developed a melody and applied it to the poem. It was crude, but made sense. Still, I would not have the opportunity to apply it to a wedding, at that time. Fast forward to 2007, and I am getting married. The minister of music from my church is the musician. I presented the sheet music to him, and asked if he could play it for my fiance's cousin to sing to. A little rough, but bearable. It was at that time when I realized the true potential of the song. I would not touch or augment the song for several years, until now, 18 years later, 2025, when I decided to try full production. The result is what we have here.
