Story Behind The Song
This is very loosely based on a character from our family who had it all and literally lost it at the track. In a more general sense its abou those don't honor what they have and Karma gets them in the end.
Song Description
Sometimes we can get wrapped up in living up to the personas we create and put out to the world. What happens when that persona becomes more improtant than the actual people? Usually it doesn't turn out all that well.

Lyrics
Race Track Jack
Verse 1-
Here he comes walkin' down the street
Silver cane and gold in his teeth
Yes he has a fine young lady
A sweet young thing we all call Sadie
Sadie likes him cuz' he acts real bold
She prays at night, he don't lose his soul
Say's he's just about to make a killin'
If Lady Luck'll only be a little more willin'
Chorus-
Know his name is Race Track Jack
Does OK by (He could lose/ Only has) the clothes on his back
Sure hope (Doesn't know) his hot tips not (grown) cold
Just don't care, whatever gets sold
(His brain's a little addled by the goods his been sold)
V2-
Plays his game, Win Place or Show
What comes tomorrow, he never will know
Livin' for the moment is the best they say
Won't let nothin' get in his way
Sometimes he wins, most times not
No one can say he didn't take his shot
Poor Sadie, knows to keep her peace
His temper rises to unleash the beast
Chorus-
V3- 1st half guitar solo
Time's have changed, he's sittin' sad and lonely
Thought he was the one and only
Sadie's gone and left with another
So much sadder cuz' it was his brother
Chorus repeats- out
