Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song while living in Boston during my time at the Berklee College of Music. I found that I was seeing the same girl over and over again randomly in the streets. We always made "Hollywood" eye-contact. The kind that lasts for what seems like eternity until somebody breaks and looks down at the floor smiling. Then immediately after passing each other, we each missed each other with the reassuring head turn. At least I hope she turned hers too. Either way, after a while, it got so frustrating that none of us ever did anything about it. There was clearly a connection. Our passivity lead to nothing, and eventually we both stopped crossing paths. Our class schedules changed our daily routes. I wrote a song about it.
Song Description
It seems that life is very much a stage in the sense that we are constantly in front of potential mates when we are in the great outdoors. It seems almost like a daily event that we cross paths with somebody that, had the situation been different, we would be interested in getting to know further. However, because we are a very closed off social species, stuck in our bubbles, we play "Invisible" and continue to inhibit ourselves from doing what we all wish we could: Just say "hi" and go from there. This song is meant to touch on that fantasy we all have, and hopefully encourage people to drop their shields a little bit, stop fearing rejection, and create more opportunities for a very worthwhile relationship.

Lyrics
You keep your pony tail high
As if you're so preoccupied
You're acting like I don't know
There's a terrified "hello"
Hiding in your throat
We pass each other on a sidewalk
My headphones on, the music's not
Another perfect chance we're holding back
Does it take a wiretap to ask
Why do we have to play invisible?
Why walk away and forget about the signs
I'm seeing in your eyes now baby
No I don't wanna hide this craving
Why do we stay so miserable?
So damn afraid to give you and me a try
This is what invisible looks like
There's something that you do to me
You're like a walking fantasy
I know it sound so absurd
You break my heart without a word
Is that how it's got to be?
Tell me that you're waiting for me
And it's just a matter of time before we meet
So why do we have to play invisible?
Why walk away and forget about the signs
I'm seeing in your eyes I know you can see it
I wish we could be it, oh
So why do we have to stay so miserable?
So damn afraid to give you and me a try
This is what invisible looks like
This is what invisible looks like
This is what invisible looks like
