Story Behind The Song
I wrote this song on the last summer night I spent in Boston. My friends and I spent the whole summer bringing instruments to the docks and singing and playing all night. It was one of the most surreal, movie-like experiences I have ever had, and I wanted to remember it through writing this song.
Song Description
This is a song where the lyrics and the music are really saying the same thing. Picture a group of friends (about 20 or so) with Blue Moons in their hands, on a late summer night on the dock of a bay. A couple of people have guitars, saxaphones, drums, whistles, bells, etc. It's just a buzzed good time.

Lyrics
There's a power in the air tonight like magic
People dancing barefoot spilling wine
To the croon of this old guitar of mine
It's takin' over me, is it takin' over you?
Yeah..
Well down here at the bay
I wish the moonlight stayed
We made friends tonight
Celebrated life
And got carried away
Down here at the bay
This could be the place
We'll be hangin' around
When the world is down
A million miles away
Down here at the bay
There's a line of tiki torches
Make the girls look gorgeous
And Johnny's got his arm
Around a good beach blonde but I know
She was lookin at me yeah,
And she was winkin' at you..
And when everybody goes to sleep
Oh tonight, is still ringing in our heads
So let's do it again!
Down here at the bay
I wish the moonlight stayed
We made friends tonight, celebrated life,
And got carried away
Down here all night
So hold your drinks up high
Cause we're gonna make
A tidal wave
And scream like no one's listening
Down here at the bay..
