Story Behind The Song

Inspired by communities that are changing social norms, out-dated laws, and unwarranted stigmas. This song is a call to action for anyone that has chosen to take of the mantle and fight for what they believe in. It represents what it means to be a trail blazer and how unity is the real power a HERO can have over their community. Jaki & I put out mostly dance music, but are both classically trained musicians by trade. So we wanted to highlight one of our previous hits CHANGING HISTORY with a piano arrangement. To show the range we have within our music we are creating an EP of acoustic versions of our EDM / POP hits.

Song Description

During the first verse of Changing History we are immediately drawn in by a piano and Jaki Nelson's crystal clear voice. She expresses her resilience oppressors, the rules she's willing to break, and how she refuses to back down for what she believes. So with no approval needed, Jaki is joined by several string instruments, as she invites the listener to close their eyes, find courage, and imagine a better place. A place where you become the HERO. Quickly this glides into the Chorus where we proudly claim our place as trail blazers of our communities. Calling out those willing to join her that we are CHANGING HISTORY. THE SECRET IS OUT and we are pushing back as a community. The second verse of the song we hear Joey Suarez express what the weight of this calling feels like. How becoming a HERO is not aneasy, sought after, position that we are not meant to bare alone. Once again Joey & Jaki invite the listener into the idea that they are also a HERO of their dreams. Accompanied by beautiful orchestration.
