Song Description
This was an idea Kathy came up with during a trip to Nashville. We happened to both be there at the same time and spent an afternoon putting it together. There is just something about writing in Nashville that promotes spontaniety and creativity.

Lyrics
A DISTANCE OF THE HEART
Words and music by Stephen P. Amos and Kathy Rogers
Here I am in Houston,
I just got in today,
But if home is where the heart is,
I?d be back in Santa Fe,
The miles that come between us,
Are tearing me apart,
Miles that run forever,
On the highway to my heart.
CHORUS
And there?s a distance between you and me,
It?s further than it ever used to be,
More than the miles keeping us apart,
I can feel a distance of the heart.
Where were you this morning,
Did you really miss my call,
Or was that just you forgetting,
To remember me at all,
Now I can?t keep pretending,
There?s really nothing wrong,
When I can?t tell the difference,
Between being there and gone.
CHORUS
One road starts, one road ends, will any road bring us back again,
Or have we gone too far with distance in our hearts.
CHORUS
