"I want to leave a mark on the world...to this world impart. I want to leave a gift for the world, the love that flows from my heart. I will write words to express to the world, the power that love can bring, and music to lift up the souls of mankind, to cause their hearts to sing."

ABOUT Me

Hi. I'm Denise 'Orgill' Ferguson. I was born and raised in the 'Valley of the Sun,' Phoenix, Arizona. It was a great place to grow up. I currently reside in eastern Canada, (insert 'brrr' now!) a great place to continue 'growing up!'

I'm grateful to write and sing and perform, and recently added a Celtic harp to my instrument wish list. I really am enjoying it.

I've had many opportunities to use my music, all of which I am grateful for. My dad promised me that if I would always say 'yes' when asked to serve with my talents that they would grow. Such wise and loving counsel from him! I love writing all types of music, as they are all needed in this world. We need music to dance to, be consoled by, work to, play to, laugh to, yet my favorite are the songs I can write that talk, speak, and rejoice in Christ.

As you view my site, realize that all the styles are MIXED together. There are lullabies, pop, instrumental, and spiritual. Also some of my songs were written but recorded by artist Missy Knott for her Cd. I will try to 'sort' them into categories soon.

I am a mother of five beautiful sons. Drew left our earthly home on January 30, 2005 and I miss him so deeply, and can hardly wait to see him again one day. Shawn is 23 and is following his Equestrian talents and passions. Sam is 21 and is pursuing his talents and passions in music. Aaron will be 16 this year and loves sports and high school. Brandan is going to be 13, and loves sports and LIFE! I am very VERY blessed!!!

I am grateful for each time I can perform and share my music, whether for many or few, and am blessed to have the 'Accompanimen', Andy Thompson (vocals, keyboard, percussion, music director, my arranger, and producer and engineer...wow, he's pretty amazing eh?)and Andrew Affleck (bass guitar and keyboard)and as well Kevin McCloskey (upright bass, vocals) perform with me. Please check the 'Events' for upcoming concerts/firesides.

I am currently working on promoting a musical that I hope will generate greater love of mankind and greater awareness of the need to be a more giving people, especially as we are living in times where we need to be prepared and see ways we can lift others.

Music has blessed my life and I am grateful for the sweetness, and power it has added, and hope that I will live worthy of this most sacred 'gift.'

"The deepest, most tender words from the heart, set to music familiar to one's very soul ~ that is the power and gift of a song."

Dear Ms./Sister Fergusen,

May I request a .pdf of "A LongTime Ago?" Such a wondrous piece. I plan to perform it in our ward on 12/27/24 while playing a classical guitar; I can only hope that I will be able to make it through the third verse without "re-calibrating" and re-gaining control of my emotions mid-song. Very lovely, touching song.

Thank you very much (and of course I would love to pay remuneration to you)!

Best,

Shane Reed

P.S. My wife and I have 11 children (and 13 grandchildren), and ten of them will be attending church that day! The last time I performed this song was in 2002.
