Thanks for the thorough review. All my music is recorded in Nashville with some of the hottest players in the biz. The bass on "Island Blues" was played by Garry Lunn. He is my favorite electric bass player. The drummer was John Hammond. The sax was recorded in my studio in Baltimore. I am trying to bring a real live sound to all my music. This is the label I am on. www.creativesouljazz.com Thanks again, Drew
Thank you for the comprehensive review of my song "Do It". I appreciate your glowing praise as well as your constructive thoughts. Cheers!
Hi Richard! I got both of your messages...Thanks...I'm not quite sure where the best place to leave them is either so I either go to the artists site or do both! Again I thought your vocals were quite good on that song...Char would love any song about herself immensely! Trust me I know how busy teachers are because 2 of the guys in my band are teachers for their day job....It's demanding work but satisfying when going well I'm sure..Thanks for the messages and Happy Spring! Penny and Char
Hallo Penny - I'm new to Broadjam so 8i don't think the message I sent you writing on my own profile reached you. Basically i just wanted to thank you for your kind comment about Birds and was glad Cjar enjoyed it - next song will be Char of the North! Actually I consider my vocals to be one of my weaker points so I'm going to add another voice soon I want to listen to as many of your songs as poss and then write to you soon so will be in touch Thanks again Richard
Thank you Penny - very kind comments - actually vocals is my weakest point so I have to work hard on them and I'm going to add another voice to reinforce and open up the range of notes a little more. I am going to listen to more of your material in the next week or two (I'm a busy teacher ) so it'll take me a while but I'm sure I'm going to enjoy and will write to you again but please do keep in touch especially when I write the next bird song for Char! All the bestest
"Birds Of Summer" really great song, nice vocals. This is my own response though I must say that Char, my 20 year old dove, really was taken by the title :)
Hello Richard and many thanks for your very positive and kind review of "Every Single Time" It is a very helpful and comprehensive review...I look forward to hearing your work soon. I appreciate the time you gave to my song VERY much! Penny
Hi Richard! Thank you for your thorough review of my song! Keep in touch :) Carol
Thank you so much Richard for your beautiful and thoughtful review. I appreciate everything you've said and suggested :) Greetings from UK Nadia
Many thanks for your review of Moon in the Day but I like your Thunder in my Heart as the song dores not really have a strong hook line. I agree the vocals could be more to the fore and I may rework this so I appreciate the advice. Hope I get to review your work soon. All the best and glad this song is your cup of tea, as we say!
Thanks for the review of Birds of Summer- it made me look up Daniel Lanois so that must be good! I'll have another go with the drums.....if I can find a drummer
Thanks for taking the time to review Oversight and you've really made me think about the lyrics. It's about someone stopping another person who committed a crime not to jump off the roof - the first person dismisses the crime murder as a mere oversight (tongue-in-cheek -it's a fun song). So he makes a pledge (Brituish English) to help him get away so it's not pleasure. Your comment shows me that I've failed to make things really clear so I'm going back to simplify it and use more common words etc. Without your comment I wouldn't be doing that I also need to make the vocals clearer in the middle 8 or even come up with another bridge so I'm really grateful and hope you get to review another of my efforts Cheers (as we say in the U.K. )
Richard, Thank you for your very thoughtful review. I appreciate the effort you put into it. CP
