Thanks for listening to "Years Left To Burn." Sorry it didn't click for you.
Thanks for listening to "Sweet Cheri". It really wasn't meant to be commercial. People seem to either really like it or react as you do. Anyway, I have never heard anyone criticize the vocal pitch, that was an interesting comment.
Not meant to be commercial? I understand....some songs are just for fun. You have a nice voice Kurt, I was referring to a couple of high notes there that were off. Hey, I get that too sometimes. I usually try to record after reving it up vocally for a few days to overcome it lol. It works.
Kate, Thanks for your kind review of my song "Song Of Solomon." I agree, the lyrics got a little hard to catch in that recording, but I was on a roll with the fingerpicking and just let it be. Best wishes. Kurt Lehman
Hi Kurt, thanks for the shoutout. Keep up the good work and I hope I get to review more of your music. I love the way you play guitar. What kind of a guitar is it?
Thanks for reviewing "Talking Real World" but I must ask why you made nice comments such as 'loving everything about the song" except you would like more beat, etc., did you give it such a low overall rating? I see you are an R&B artist; why would you review a folk/alternative song?
Kurt, u must forgive me for this; i intend pointing to excellent bottens but i took d low for high . it wouldn't happen again.
Oh, okay, no problem. I am glad I asked. Thank you for answering.
if you contact Customer Service, ask as nicely as the 2 of you now share, they will review and more than likely remove the score. no harm in asking.
I'm glad u understand; good luck in all ur endeavor
My wife, a former ER and Rn listened, and totally got it. Incredible song about a painful unreal experience.
That's a big compliment. My friends an intensive-care nurse and I couldn't stop thinking about her experience. Once I'd written it, I could let it go. I'm chuffed that I've captured an experience I've never had.
Be careful travelling out of the country with a wooden guitar. It might get confiscated because the fretboard uses Brazilian rosewood, or the Ivory inlays are in violation of EPA rules. I am serious. saw the headline thru a fellow musician - "FEDS RAID GIBSON GTR IN MEMPHIS & NASHVILLE" - the G-Men were searching for the ultimate woody . . . our govt. dollars at work {:>(
Just listening to "Broken." Talk about imbedded irony! The contrast of the 'black' lyrics with the almost Cole Porter-ish keyboard playful lilts is quite something. Your voice is pure and very beautiful, your lyricism is spontaneous and surprising. Great work.

Awww.... ;-)
Kurt, Years Left to Burn is poignant and beautifully crafted. My school is the School of Job (the Bible Guy). Faith is a choice that requires constant testing and renewal. But you still sound like the young Leonard Cohen to me, and that makes me happy. May you live until you die! - Nick
Thanks, Nick. Very very kind comments, so appreciated! "Years" is totally autobiographical...no one (except my wife) has ever responded as positively as you have tot he song. Best wishes, Kurt
"Heart Of A Dead Man" ---wow!!!
Very kind Kurt. Think you boosted interest in the song by your comment though I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. I love Years Left To Burn. I am 35 and just "starting to catch on". Such a beautiful and profound song. You're writing from the right place and for the right reasons.
35 is the Best! Live Life Now! Parts start to fall off after 40...
Thanks, Louise. "Years" is complete autobiography, and is more than anything a tribute to my father, as well as remarking on the incredible power and dynamics of family. And, of course, lessons... I will follow your music!
I've been trying to write a song about my father for a few years. I've realised from your song that I've been focussing on his death rather than his life. I'm inspired, thanks.
Louise, Thanks for your kind review of my song "Tom Morgan." I appreciate it. Others have disliked the amount of reverb I used to enhance my voice. I've never been compared to Don Maclean, but thanks! I do think barring a few gaffs my guitar work was pretty clean on that one. Best wishes, Kurt Lehman
Kurt: 'She Needs Some Rain' is very much the quintessential folk song - very classic in form, feel and heartfelt story. Most enjoyable. . . as always, PGO
Thanks, PGO. Appreciate your taking the time to listen. I like a feedback environment where people say what they like, or what they don't like, but don't play the 'not marketable' card on you! Best regards as always.
Just listened to "I Never Asked." Great song, perfect chorus. Your lyrics say a lot by what you don't say. Wonderful work.
Thanks, I appreciate that. I think the best songs come from a real place for the writer.
Thanks for your thoughtful review of my song "She Needs Some Rain." I agree with your assessment -- it is a kind of wandering melody without a real 'hook'. And I appreciate that you listened and found what you liked in it and let me know your overall view. Best wishes, Kurt Lehman
My pleasure - I liked a lot of it, in particular the title.
Hi Kurt, Thanks for the nice review of my "live" version of my song, "Electra". It comes from a live show I did in Kansas City on 9.11.72 at Cowtown Ballroom. This version is included on my "live" album, "Black and White". This song is also included on my first album, "Time Loop", from back in 1970. Stop by my site and enjoy some of my other work, if you are interested. Best .... Chet Nichols.
Just listened to "Rest Your Head On My Shoulder." Love it, your vocal style is as genuine as it gets, and I love the clean sharp sound of your guitar. Heartfelt lyrics!
such a wonderful compliment - thank you - as always, your friend in music - PGO
Thanks for your kindly review of my song "Tom Morgan." I agree with your idea that I should tell the story with my voice and leave the reverb down. Haven't recorded in quite some time, but feedback like yours is inspiring. Thanks.
all in due time. . . it will be worth the effort - PGO
Kurt, an Unexpected Pleasure to make your acquaintance with The Other Me. My BJ game is to find pals of my pals and dig out their most unloved (unplayed) tune. Never found someone who sounded more like Leonard Cohen or my own self. I am sending you a Friend request in an attempt to get your plays up. You deserve a Lift! St. Nick
Thanks, Nick. I haven't ever been compared Leonard Cohen! I see the comparison in your singing style, also a echo of Tom Petty there. I guess we all sound like somebody, hey? Good luck and thanks for your comments -- "The Other Me" is a song I have had replaying in my own head lately, strangely enough, and you are the second person to listen to it recently.
Thanks for reviewing "The Other Me." You were very kind. I like your song styles, your production values are much better than mine!
Hey Kurt, no problemmo. My production values only apply to my older tunes...the newer ones that I've socked up are basically shitty. Didn't have the money to properly record so experimented with two Roland Edirols. Still waiting for the mastering to be done and hopefully that will clean them up some, but when someone's doing a freebie for you, well, you just have to wait! Keep on writing, you've got some good stuff going on!
Thanks, Wednesday. I laughed at your 'basically shitty' comment -- because that is also how I think of much of my material as far as arrangement and engineer quality. I think of myself as a lyricist who needs to concoct a melody to make the words flow. Keep on keepin on, the favor will come through. BTW have you ever sold anything through BJ to someone you don't know? (Me neither!) ;-)
Haha, me neither :D
Thanks for tha good review of my song "Rivers End". You have a good sound. enjoyed your tunez. M. Shark
Hi Kurt, just want to say thanks for taking the time to review my song, I reall appreciate the comment. Mark
