GREAT SOUND & RECORDING OF MATERIAL. YOUR SONGS SHOULD BE IN FILMS!!! KEEP UP THE WONDERFUL WORK!
Just stumbled on to your music guys. Great stuff. Thank you!
Thank you!
Say, we're actually allowed to announce this, finally: We're playing at the Rochester Jazz festival this summer! We're using our East Coast name, "Two Siberians." We'll be doing two sets at the Little Theater, on Friday June 21. Come out and say hi!
Congratulations! Have fun. Joe
That's awesome!! Congrats!!!
So happy to see 6/8 made Earth!!! Very much deserved!!!
Thanks! I didn't really understand what Earth was--I guess that's kind of the overall Top 10 chart? Is that right? How cool!!
Yes! Very cool!
Added a couple of songs from our recent album "6/8" today, because I was totally surprised to find I hadn't uploaded them before. Moka Koka and Telephone have a Latin edge to them--hope you enjoy!
Nice!
Tartila does it for me - had to buy it!
Thank you!! Wow! Yeah, that's some of Artyom's solo work, it's been on my hard drive for months now and I finally had time to listen to it. I really liked Liquid Time, it's very hypnotic.
WTG! Congrats, and wow!
Voice reminds me of john lodge of the moody blues...similar vibe... very cool
Thanks John, glad you're digging the tunes! Cheers, David
Thanks White Fort! Good luck teaching Planet Earth some new musical tricks. Your presence is most welcome! Cheers, David
You cats come from another planet! Welcome to earth, your music and madness is greatly appreciated. Please take some of our adventurous youngsters back to planet 6/8 for schooling. Congrats on making the Top 10 and thanks again for your kind comments. Cheers, David
!! You saw through our disguises! Now I have to call in the Imperial Army of Planet 6/8 to wipe your brain clean. Do you have any idea how much paperwork that involves?
If it's anything like US taxes or Russian bureaucracy, it will take a minimum of one or two lifetimes. I trust you have efficient and beautiful assistants on planet 6/8 who never age.
Nah, they're all from planet 7/9. *note: the above comment will separate Trek nerds from, well, everybody else.*
You guys are truly amazing. I wish you both the best. Congratulations on making it to the Top 10!!!
Thanks, Dianne! This whole 6-pack thing has been the first time I've really felt like I could connect with others on Broadjam--I'm so glad we entered!
Me too!!! It's been such a great experience hearing all of the submissions. Phenomenal.
Sweet award there guys! Well done!
I think that was the highlight of the tour for the guys. I've listened to snippets from their last concert in Moscow and they were blabbing like crazy about being the best band in Oregon. They didn't win the National level award... we were all laughing about the concept of "The Best Band in America... is from Siberia." It would've pegged the Irony Meter.
. . . you can see Russia from the Oregon Coast so that makes it close enough.
LOL - that's awesome!
PGO--BWAHAHAHAHA!
LOVE this one! The whole concept of "brother can you spare a dime so I can call my inner anarchist" is brilliant. Great Work!
Thanks for your positive comments, that's very kind of you! We're close to getting this tune on BBC national radio. Hopefully big brother can spare a play! Cheers, David
6/8 is just bad ass! one of my favorites!
Wohoo! Bad Ass! Best Review EVER!
i heard it in the 6 pack and had to find out who did the song. lots of great music on your page. very unique and imaginative!
Aw, garsh, thanks! I think the guys are pretty darn clever, too. Must be that hearty Siberian upbringing. All that hot springs followed by diving into a frozen lake, or something.
Congratulations on completing a successful U.S. tour, as well as making it into the top ten! I'm incredibly thrilled to be in a contest with such skilled and accomplished musicians/performers/recording artist :)! Good luck guys!
WOOT! Hi-5! You too, man! What an awesome feeling, to make it to the top 10--although I honestly don't know how people could narrow it down out of the top 40. We all rock!
Back atcha.... Been feeling pretty stoked lately. Awesome feeling for sure. Man I was listening to the top ten this morning and every set of 3 is heartbreaking to cast a vote, no one deserves a 1!
EXACTLY. It's like... well, they're all the best, for different reasons!
WOOHOO! OMG, thanks everyone for voting us into the Top 20 at the Six Pack! This is so exciting I can hardly contain myself!
Good luck lads!
The guys just wrapped up their first tour of the US West Coast. They'll be in Moscow for the blink of an eye, then off to Siberia for a short tour in the Deep Freeze. While they were here, they won the "Musician of the Year" award from RAW: Portland, and even now they're competing at the national level. I've got all fingers, toes, and even my eyes crossed for them!
Today is White Fort's anniversary! Just don't ask us how long we've been together... 8-O
How long have you NOT been together? :)
Hardy-har-har. Not as long as we HAVE been together, I'll admit that much...
is this before or after the gulag?
The gulag is forever, dude. ;-)
okay - so, what you are saying is White Fort is timeless. if so, I concur!
Hi! I saw your post on the 7th Can... I think the White Fort guys would be down with adding a song to a compilation album to benefit Sandy victims. Have you had other takers? I don't know how much we could contribute besides the tune--we could post it on FB and what not, but I'm pretty much incompetent at marketing. Let me know how this is going, and how we can contribute. Cheers, Jeanine
thx, Jeanine - a couple members have offered to contribute a song and another suggested because we are "unknown" to the general public other activities would be more beneficial. if it is going to happen, need to look at how we get it into the public mainstream. will update you if we proceed.
I'd contribute a song if it was wanted and fit. Regardless, I'll certainly buy the album.
thx, Robert - will keep you informed as well. just so everybody knows, not thinking CD. MP3 downloads only. there is a good chance the only expense would then be credit card or PayPal fee which should average around 3%. that means a $10 sale would net out to $9.70 after fee. something else to think about, should this go forward, which charity to choose as some eat up a large portion of donations for "administrative costs"
I hear ya, on all counts. Well, have you talked to the Broadjam Powers that Be about the idea? They might have some ideas about promoting. Seems like it would be good for their PR as well. As for finding a charity... we should pick one right away and contact them, in order to obtain proper permission to use their name in association with this album. I got taken to the cleaners by a con artist a few years ago who set up a fake fund for a real charity (without their permission) and I know the whole drill for making this kind of thing kosher. I can help with that aspect of it. But living on the West Coast, I'm not sure which one to pick--someone back East could maybe suggest a place that seems to be working hard.
Hey, everyone! We just launched a Kickstarter campaign, to get out a new album before our tour starts. You know how that goes! Anyway, it's here: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/whitefort/release-a-new-album-6-8 1 If you can chip in, awesome, and if not, it would be great if you could help spread the news! Thanks!
Mr Jimi..... WOHOOHOOOH! You guys Rock! Man, How do you keep up, that strumming! Those really cool rock licks on the violin. Respect! Regards Floris
I don't know how the guys do it, either. I'm beginning to wonder if they're from another galaxy or something. ;-)
Ha! Maybe they game from the same planet the guys from dreamtheather came from, they are also from another planet! But You can tell the boys from me, in my honost opinion, they are out of this world (that good!)
Hey guys! Just listed to 6/8! So amazing! I've been playing a while, but your chops had me jealous! Love your music! Congratulation on hitting up the leaderboard on the 6-pack. You guys deserve to be there! Hope you tour Canada someday. I'd be in the front row dancing like a Cossack :D!
Thank you! We were actually hoping to make it to BC this fall, but we don't have time to get a Canada visa AND a US visa. Next time!
Are you touring in the U.S. this fall. Are you going to be in North Dakota at all?
We'll be up and down the West Coast this fall--about the furthest inland we're going is Moscow, Idaho. I can't wait to take a picture of the guys in front of the "Welcome to Moscow" sign. But that's a whole Montana away from you, I'm afraid.
Oooh! Fun! We're on the leaderboard in the 6-pack at last! :-D Not sure what to do next, but it's fun to see our category up there at last!
it was inevitable - CONGRATZ!
Coolness!
:-D Thanks, guys! This is the first 6-pack we've entered, so I'm a little hyper about it.
White Fort - Just listened to Searching For Power. Brilliant work. Fantastic performance and the soundscape was excellent. Love the groove at 2:30, very unique and different.....It's an honor to have your stuff on our site. Thanks for being a member, Roy
Gosh, Roy, thank you! I'm Jeanine, their manager (and English speaker). I'm really touched that you payed them such a lovely compliment! :-)
Jeanine, Keep me posted on their progress. They deserve success.....Roy
OMG, we made the finals! Hi, Broadjam friends--can you take a few seconds to go support White Fort in this contest? This is the link: http://www.unregularradio.com/single-contest/contest-voting 1 We're right on top of the ballot, and it's REALLY easy to vote--no registration or credit card or anything dorky like that--just point and click. 5 seconds! It runs til June 21. We could REALLY use the publicity in Boston! Thanks, guys!
Voted!
DITTO!
Vote cast, good luck!
Voted - Good luck!!
Done !.
on board. Good luck
Thanks you guys! We've got some stiff competition--pretty well networked people. I really appreciate your support!
Man, I wish the rest of the 6-Pack contest was up! We haven't done this contest before... does it always take so long for all the categories to get their reports?
hey white fort, My advice..... stop following the leaderbords. It will drive you insane! It can change any second! Somewhere between here and december, BJ will launch some offers for the sixpack. Many people then submit songs and BOOM first place, becomes 10th place! Then also, you are (looking at last years sixpack) in the disadvantage. Last year Jeff Haper AKA Mind Cleaner had 3 first places in the leader board out of six cans! even so, he didn't forwarded to the final top 20. So again my Advice, don't log in untill december and then start biting your finger nails! good luck. FLoris
LOL! You're probably right.
Anybody have any suggestions for planning a tour in Australia/New Zealand? I'm hoping to get the boys into some jazz festivals Down Under, but man, I have No Earthly Idea where to even begin!
try Googling "Australian Music Scene" "Australian Music Venues"
Well, I did that... the trouble was, my gosh, they'd have these lists of bands they represented and because they were all local, I couldn't tell what kind of music they were... it was kind of overwhelming, like we weren't even speaking the same language, you know?
try specific cities such as "Melbourne Night Life" - wish I could be of more help. have a friend over there that I will try to reach via Skype.
try specific cities like "Melbourne Night Life" - hopefully some of our Aussie members will see your post and respond.
Yah, that's what I was hoping... that some Aussie or Kiwis would take pity on me and give me a hand here. But actually, I did try Australian Music Venues and hit on some useful venue review articles, which led me back to the actual venue pages... so I think I'm kind of getting started at last.
The Boys won First Place in the Instrumental Category of the 2011 International Songwriting Competition!! I am SO STOKED!
CONGRATZ!
Awesome!!!
I wish Broadjam had a "like" button... it's so awesome to hear from you guys! Thank you!
Artyom and Yuriy...World Class guys !!! Well Deserved!!! Wishing you every success.....Best...Ian
Wow, that's great news! In Holland we say: Gefeliciteerd! Well Deserved!
absolutely BRILLIANT news!! Congratulations, that is an achievement that is never forgotten! well done lads :-)
wicked great news well done
Wow, thats great! Nice work!
Great news!!
Thanks again, everyone! This is really exciting. I wish I spoke better Russian, I don't think the guys fully comprehend how cool this is! :-)
The boys are booking some concerts in Siberia in May and June--more info to come. Also, Artem will be appearing at the Dusseldorfer Jazz Rally on May 25. РуÑÑÐºÐ°Ñ ÐœÑƒÐыка--Ура!
Congratulations!!!
Guys, I watched your Video Mr jimi. That is just unbalievably awesome! How in the name of ........ can you keep up that tempo! strumming the guitar! and then that violin with all the fx (not to forget the wah on the guitar) I have just promoted your video on my facebook page, hope you get a lot of extra hits! great stuff! regards Floris
Thank you! The boys have just started playing live again after a 5 year hiatus, and it blows me away that they can keep up that pace. Crazy Siberians!
How was the show on the 18th? Is there any video? Would love to see White Fort live!
It ROCKED! And yes, there are some "amateur" videos that Artyom's brother filmed--I'll try to post them up here today. They had a camera crew out too, but I'm not sure when they'll have the official vids prepared.
Ack, running into file size problems. I'll do my best to put something up...!
Wow, looks like the secret is out: These crazy Siberians won a critique in the Tom Jackson Video Makeover contest! I can't wait to see the critique of "Mr. Jimi"-- but then I have to hurry up and get it translated into Russian for the boys!
Just watched your video for the song, very cool stuff!
