I knew early on that I wasn’t made for a suit and tie while trading time for money. I have worked every job imaginable to keep a guitar in my hands and maintain my modest lifestyle. And through some of my experiences I’ve discovered that it’s the songs that find you rather than the other way around. I’ve got no desire to be on American Idol or American’s Most Wanted – just somewhere in between – waiting on that next song.

Short & Sweet Bio
David Walburn doesn’t belong in Nashville.
He won’t go to L.A.
David and his music belong somewhere in between, somewhere up the spine of the Rockies, somewhere like Montana.
Montana - where the rugged landscape takes hold of you and just won’t let go, where life drives at a slower pace and where a songwriter’s imagination can thrive.
Montana has a sound all its own. And if you’ve never been to the Big Sky Country, David’s music can take you there. His combination of words and music help you see, hear and feel what he lives every day. He has a way of capturing the West, without sounding like ordinary country western music. Yet he’s got a Gordon Lightfoot style with influences of early 70’s songwriter greats such as Chapin, Croce, Kristofferson,& Jerry Jeff, just to name a diverse few. And if you appreciate the timeless styles of these artists, you’ll love and appreciate David’s work as well. Whether he writes a love song, or historical narrative or folky bluegrass piece, his down to earth storytelling and poetic lyrics leave a lasting impression that stays with you long after the song is over.
And if your traveling out west and find yourself in Montana, you owe it to yourself to check out David performing live in his backyard at the Many Glacier Hotel in Glacier National Park. Because you probably won’t hear David Walburn on mainstream radio, but isn’t that the point?
