Nkeng Alemanji grew up in Cameroon, W. Africa. His parents moved the family to Canada when he was 7 months old; Nkeng lived in Toronto until he was 3 and ½. Nkeng was recently VH-1 Song of The Year contest finalist; “Find A Way” a song co-written with Darnley “Mello-D” Hodge (who’s worked with KRS-One) released on Thermite Records; Nkeng appeared in videos on BET, MTV2, Launch; “Simple As I Am” was Finalist in VH-1 Song Of The Year Contest; “You Remind Me”, a tribute song to Dr. King, was Suggested artist honor; Nkeng was invited by director of GearUp, San Francisco, to be a guest speaker; Nkeng was introduced to Ricky Lawson [Grammy Award songwriter/ world renowned drummer] - through Ricky, Nkeng had a meeting with Babyface; “Simple As I Am” was one of most played songs in Cameroon; Nkeng has worked with producers David Bellochio (Queen Latifah, Hall and Oates) and Andre Bell & Janice Upchurch (Dru Hill); Nkeng is well-traveled and multi-lingual.

Nkeng Alemanji, principal of Songs From Above, grew up in Yaounde, Cameroon, writing songs since age 12. He writes songs for broadcast, and develops international artists.
Nkeng was recently Song of The Year contest (VH-1) finalist.
