Peal has an acoustic-driven sound borne of sugar-sweet melodies and uplifting, harmony-drenched choruses that are counterpoint to singer, songwriter & guitarist Tim Wilsbach's smoky, Midwestern vocals and introspective lyrics.
Produced by Ed Toth (Vertical Horizon) Peal self-released their debut CD Beautiful Baby Elephant in the summer of 2006. Since then, they've been criss crossing the midwest playing shows, meeting new fans, and selling hundreds of CDs.
Nearly 200 college radio stations added BBE to their playlists this spring. Paste Magazine featured Beautiful Baby Elephant as a "Paste Recommends" CD in August & Sept '06. Aware included the band's "Carousel Junkie" on their Ear Snacks v8 compilation CD. That same track will also be included on a fall sampler, alongside Dave Matthews, Gomez, Los Lobos and several other similar artists. (50k CDs go to AAA radio listeners through 15 commercial stations across the country- WXRT-Chicago WTTS-Indianapolis etc.)

Peal has an acoustic-driven sound borne of sugar-sweet melodies and uplifting, harmony-drenched choruses that are counterpoint to singer, songwriter & guitarist Tim Wilsbach's smoky, Midwestern vocals and introspective lyrics. Simply put, this is a thinking person's pop music that doesn't break any new ground, but is so infectious that it doesn't need to.
Wilsbach draws inspiration from under-the-radar contemporaries like Josh Rouse, Bob Schneider & Angie Aparo, while Peal delivers a pop rock sound more in line with mainstream artists like Counting Crows, Train, & Matchbox 20.

Peal is not only catching the eye of new fans, but also catching the eye of the industry. That same track will also be included on SBR Creative's Fall CD sampler, alongside Dave Matthews, Gomez, Los Lobos and several other similar artists. (SBR markets 50,000 free compilation CDs to AAA radio listeners through 15 commercial triple-A stations across the country like WXRT-Chicago WTTS-Indianapolis etc.)
The staying power of straight-ahead pop/rock that is driven by melody is evident with the likes of Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty and Paul Westerberg. Armed with eleven new songs that redefine the term "radio-friendly," Tim Wilsbach and Peal are ready to take that musical torch and run with it as they continue to tour the Midwest and beyond.
