Jacob James Henry, in the persona of The Lava Project , continues pulling and tearing at the boundaries of electronic, soul, dance and funk music. Electrophonic Soul*, now setting up shop in Tokyo in 2010-2011.
Also got a cameo coming up in the 2011 Japanese film "Mahoro-ekimae- tadabenriken", starring Japanese stars Eita and Ryuhei Matsuda.
Music's been on the back burner as I prepare for grad school, but lookin to poke my nose in a couple of things soon...

the lava project: an amalgamation of soulful and lustful electronic grooves and instrumentation, poetry and random contributions from unexpected musical elements. jacob james henry's brainchild of collecting the talents of cross-genre musicians and djs, to create something fresh and interesting for the second half of the 1st millenial decade. just music.
jacob james henry: graduate of UC Berkeley, originally trained as a jazz musician, has spent the past 10 years in New York and Japan, developing his production, songwriting and philosophy chops. now ready to break out and float an electronic-oriented, song and groove based project.
In 2003/2004 Jacob test-marketed demo versions of a couple of tracks from the then in-progress Lava Project debut on the net, and got some good feedback, and some success with both tracks going to number 1 on their respective mp3.com charts.
From 2001 to the present, he has been involved in a variety of performing and production work, including vocals for TV commercials , video games and, as well as sound design and scoring for film and DVD projects.
