The Nod was formed in the basements of Madison over two years ago. Original member Brett Newski (lead vocals/guitar) has kept this band chugging through several roster shake-ups. The Nod is currently a three-piece consisting of Brett, Eric Maloney (bass/vocals) and Charlie Lynch (drums).

The Nod released their first commercial album last year, the Shoddy Heart EP, on the Yes Please Records imprint of Yes Please Media. It's six tracks are a mix of indie and alternative rock, with a twist of quirkiness that is becoming something of a hallmark for these three.

Easy, Maverick is the Nod's debut full-length album, released just before the summer of 2010. Recorded and produced by the band themselves, this album exudes a raw energy and enthusiasm that has always been present at their shows. Blood, sweat, and more than a few tears went into this album, and it shows. Lyrics about making it in the 'biz and being broke as f*** make this the band's most honest and important recording yet.
