Tasty Reckless is the songwriting team of Peter Blasevick and James Campion. Neither is particularly tasty, nor could they be mistaken as necessarily reckless, save for their sad devotion to anti-fashion and baseball statistics. But for twenty years they've toiled in the salt mines of Madagascar sheathed in yards of camel hair while managing to put tune to paper and hammering out the results on some kind of recording equipment. Most of all, Peter and James write songs; they sometimes eat, crap, sleep and annoy the women in their lives, but mostly, they write songs.
Tasty Reckless: A songwriting cabal of two and a vehicle that is wholly, completely, and spiritually dedicated to the art of songwriting. Their credo: Whatever serves the song IS the song. Goffin and King, Bacharach and Leonard, Lennon and McCartney, John and Taupin; it matters little. The song is the thing, isn't it? And for Tasty Reckless, the song is, in fact, the thing.

Tasty Reckless is the songwriting team of Peter Blasevick and James Campion. Neither is particularly tasty, nor could they be mistaken as necessarily reckless, save for their sad devotion to anti-fashion and baseball statistics. But for twenty years they’ve toiled in the salt mines of Madagascar sheathed in yards of camel hair while managing to put tune to paper and hammering out the results on some kind of recording equipment. Most of all, Peter and James write songs; they sometimes eat, crap, sleep and annoy the women in their lives, but mostly, they write songs.
Peter is a veteran of nearly two decades of live performing in regional rock acts along the East Coast from Canada to the Bahamas. He has also lent his musical acumen as a studio musician to countless recording artists, diligently honing the technique of his beloved songwriting along the way. His primary composing instruments are the piano and guitar, but armed with a complete home studio arsenal, he is able to produce and perform all the songs heard here. His professional goal has been, and continues to be, developing his skills as a songsmith, not unlike an artisan whose only dream is to one day perfect his craft. No matter the style or the genre, Peter’s approach is professional.
Cursed with a ferocious wit and terrible knack for whining, James is an otherwise useless pustule. The best you can say about him is that he breathes without consequence. Jesus hates him. He has been rejected by Jerry’s kids and drowns in puddles. After his early career of writing and performing his own music, he embarked on a literary path that has included several court injunctions and three published works. Included are “Deep Tank Jersey”, “Fear No Art”, and “Trailing Jesus”, as well as a weekly pop culture syndicated column, Reality Check, and a plethora of freelance nonsense for NY Newsday and other fairly disreputable periodicals. No one is sure he even exists, except his venerable composing partner, who appreciates James’ innate ability to turn a phrase and capture uniquely pathetic emotions in lyrical form.
Together Pete and James make up Tasty Reckless, a songwriting cabal of two and a vehicle that is wholly, completely, and spiritually dedicated to the art of songwriting. Their credo: Whatever serves the song IS the song. Goffin and King, Bacharach and Leonard, Lennon and McCartney, John and Taupin….it matters little. The song is the thing, isn’t it? And for Tasty Reckless, the song is, in fact, the thing.
