Tachycardia Bio
Started in 2005, Tachycardia has gone through many names to find the one that fits. Tachycardia is a medical term meaning an increased heart rate. Tachycardia has come a long way in the short time they have been a band. Starting with the name The_Bricks, they started out practicing in a room with little 15-watt amplifiers with no drummer and no microphone. The members were Hunter Tolbert, Paul Demer, Miles DeBruin, Kenny Perry, and Joseph Beckham as the manager. After gaining a drummer, Austin, Tachycardia decided that they wanted to be a 4 piece band. They kicked out the bassist, Kenny, and decided that Miles and Paul would switch off playing bass. After long practices Tachycardia won the school talent show, defeating Arsenic, a band with members a grade higher than themselves. As a Christmas gift, Hunter’s dad bought tachycardia 4 hours at a local recording studio. They recorded 3 covers. Shortly after this, Hunter and Paul started to write songs, and after a few terrible songs, they began to write good songs. By this time, Tachycardia had 50-watt amps and a PA and a keyboard. Tachycardia played at a friend’s party, and had their first chance to play a set in public. After this party, Tachycardia was determined to write enough songs to make an EP. Paul’s dad, a professional musician, let us use his mini recording studio whenever we wanted. Tachycardia started to practice more and had two gigs in October, where they played their originals live for the first time. Everyone loved them. Tachycardia then decided to ask Parker Lawson, a keyboardist, to join their band to make the sound fuller. He joined and Tachycardia is much better because of it. Tachycardia recorded some originals at Paul’s house and some at Hunter’s house (who got a mini recording studio from Joseph). They now have 4 originals recorded and are working on their first EP. With multiple gigs coming up including one at Butler Elementary and one at The Door in Fort Worth and with an offer from a major producer, John Charlillo, Tachycardia is not your average 14 year old band.
