Sweet Oblivion

Sweet Oblivion was formed in the fall of 2003 as a recording project by Dan Cochems. He partnered with Phil Tietz, a guitarist who had previously been in a band with Dan called "Walter Ego".

Their first 3-song CD sampler was titled, "Haligo Prion - Primus Tres". Haligo Prion is the name of Dan's studio in Madison, where it was recorded; and "Primus Tres" is Latin meaning, "First Three". This CD was the beginning of a higher level of recording compared to the earlier "Walter Ego" days of the 4-track cassette and digital 8-track, and was to be used as a definate learning tool as through which to progress. Now at Haligo Prion Studio, Dan had the latest in high-end recording software along with the essential hardware to make the transition to a more nationally competitive level.

Dan and Phil are currently in the process of completing a full length CD, showcasing their best work yet, with past help from sound engineer, Mike Sommerfeldt, and current help from Paul Schluter of Megatone Studios in Madison, WI. Dan and Phil hope to have their CD released in 2009.
