Steve Robinson is the grandson to famous Vaudevillian and Chicago Folk Music hall of fame inductee Jesse Olden Cryor. He established the band in 2001 and quickly gained regional support and independent kudos from such indie sources as Tape Op Magazine. S.R.T.F. indulges themselves by blending rock, blues, soul, and experimental sounds together never forgetting the audience is there to witness their commanding stage show. This charismatic locomotive led by his voice that is part primal scream and soulful swagger and rhythm guitar. S.R.T.F. captivates audiences and takes them on a ride.

While touring the Midwest, the Northwest Steve, and his band have earned a following of eclectic fans. Steve's third release 'Hello from the Up-Down Room.' on Mushroom Cloud Records had the band touring more while increasing record sales and earning college radio support. All this has broadened the bands the band's fan base from the Midwest and Northwest to a growing worldwide audience.

Steve Robinson worked with an industry giant when he took some time off between 2003 and 2005. He recorded an album for Roadrunner Records with a Rick Rubin produced project called To My Surprise culminating in touring with them and a SXSW berth in 2006.
Now, Steve has a three-piece band with another interesting approach to the music. On drums is the enigmatic Swiggz. His drumming is controlled explosions of time mixing disco, Latin and experimental rhythms. Unique in his approach to graft onto the emotionally charged S.R.T.F. songs. On guitar is the talented Keith Rollins Jr. Keith has an empathic approach to music that is captivating bordering on otherworldly. These elements and Steve's music create Soul-Core Rock-n-Roll. Steve's music evokes Neil Young, Sonic Youth, David Bowie and a Fellini film to create something new. In short, this is Steve Robinson and the Foundation, and they are rock music.
