Story Behind The Song

I had just gotten kicked out of a church that had been my family for years. They knew i was stuck in the immigration system and was waiting on my papers. I had no income and was trying to "do the right thing by waiting". Bills were piling up and I decided to take my chances and work instead of waiting for years and begging for money. They were appalled at my dishonesty in working without papers. They kicked me out of the worship band. Needless to say, my spirituality suffered a great deal. 5 years later, work permit and all, I am starting to heal.

Song Description

IThe song expresses indignation at long term mental abuse and manipulation by authority figures. I am unapologetic for letting go of poisonous relationship.
