Story Behind The Song
Each week I work at a homeless feeding where almost 200 men, women and children attend a brunch with table cloths, chafing dishes and gourmet food by donations. We are here to help each other. This is their story.

Lyrics
Verse 1:
As the fog settles over the city lights
There's a pause in the battle of life
The nameless are bracing for one more day,
As they merely try to survive
Love can't be felt by a hungry man
Or a woman with no place to stay
When pain can be seen in his every move
And written all over her face
CHORUS:
There's a war going down in this city
People dying alone without any home
We can't reach them all, what a pity
But we can help some along
We can help some along
Verse 2:
Not asking for handouts, but just a hand,
To help out in this hard time
The struggle continues to rage with time,
It could easily be yours or mine
Love can be felt in a gentle word,
or food that can comfort the soul
With forces that struggle to overcome,
we can choose to be bold
Bridge:
A little act of kindness, could be all that it takes
To keep one heart from crying, or simply fading away
Verse 3:
A baby is crying with no one there
To comfort and make things alright
It's no wonder he grows up consumed with fear
And survival his imminent fight
