Story Behind The Song
I woke up one night with most of the lyrics and the music running through my head. At three in the morning I went to my studio and got enough down so I wouldn't forget the song. Don't know where it came from. Alex Paul
Song Description
This song wishes that Elvis Presley's twin brother Jesse had not died at birth, and that instead he had grown up to sing with the King. It goes into the history of how Elvis was influenced all his life by the presence of the "ghost" of his twin, and the pressure to go out and "live two lives", live a large enough life for his brother as well. Elvis said many times ni his life that he had visions of his twin brother.

VERSE ONE
Born in ‘thirty five down in Tupelo
He could have been a singer but we’ll never know.
Elvis was the one who survived that day,
Jesse was the twin God took away.
CHORUS
And I wish I could have heard the Presley Brother’s sing
Would have been a totally awesome thing
Two white suits and diamond rings
A Vegas Full House with a pair of Kings
Full House with a pair of Kings
VERSE TWO
Pa and Ma were broke back in ‘45
At the State Fair Elvis sang and won a prize
So they got him a guitar and he learned to play
Blues and gospel, then he hit the stage
CHORUS
And I wish I could have heard the Presley Brother’s sing
Would have been a totally awesome thing
Two white suits and diamond rings
A Vegas Full House with a pair of Kings
Full House with a pair of Kings
BRIDGE
Jesse died on his birthday night
Never got to see the morning light
So Mama said, “Elvis when your brother died,
You got the strength of two now make the most of your life.”
VERSE THREE
Pickin up boxes and driving truck
Hopeful young singer needed more than luck
So always there with Elvis when he took the wheel
There was brother Jesse, almost real
