Story Behind The Song
I am a family therapist and I began noticing how much men sometimes suffer for their inability to express their true feelings. I remembered the song Silence Is Golden and I thought yeah, and ly. So I wrote "Silence Is ly."
Song Description
This song has a jazz /rock feel and definitely has a groove. It is about a guy in a relationship, but he doesn't speak his feelings and eventually it costs him in his relationship. He does however find the strength to break his silence as the song concludes, and he finds some relief and some peace.

Lyrics
Silence Is ly
Copyright 2000 / Scott aycock
Lying in the cool and the dark
Waiting for the neighbors dog to bark.
Dial reads 5 O?clock
Oh how I wish that we had talked.
Chorus:
Silence Is ly when the heart grows mute
Sometimes saying less means losing more.
Your love so strong and kind
I guess I wanted you to read my mind
Instead I let you slip away
Oh how I wish that you had stayed
Chorus
I passed by your house the other night
Light spilled from the window bay
A stranger stepped into the light
I turned my head and I walked away
Chorus:
When I called you up last night
My intentions were so right
Then your words cut me like a knife
Oh damn this foolish pride
Chorus:
I wanted to open my mouth
Wanted to speak with my tongue
In my heart the words they burned
You hung up, I watched the setting sun.
Chorus:
Lying in the cool and the dark
Waitin? for the neighbors dog to bark
Dial reads 6 o?clock
Oh how I wish that we had talked
Chorus:
Lying in my bed alone at night
Stars shine with a holy light
I strike out at the silence of the night.
Break
Silent night, holy night
All is calm all is right
Sleep, sleep, sleep
