Story Behind The Song
I was just coming home from practice on evening and the begining line popped into my head. I contiinued the song on my home computer and knew this was going to be a good one. But I got stuck at the "funky" part. I gave a copy to my Cellis Rob "Suki" Kuehn (I now have an acoustic Trio since Katrina) and he came back with an idea. One day I was watching something about transexuals and saw that this person had to shoot himself up twice a day with hormones if he wanted to remain a female. That's where the second break "i'd like to wear him on the outside, push him through my veins..." came from. Anyway, the cellist and I went back an forth til the song was completed.
Song Description
Superman starts out with a Zeppeliny kind of feel but with a rich yet happy Cello accompaniment. The vocal and style has brought to mind the new sound from Garbag's latest album. The first musical break takes you to this funky/slithery feel with stripper lyrics then back into a powerful Zepplin feel. The second musical break feels like something from a Matt Johnson (The The) song. As the song builds up there's a touch of Johnette Napolitano's (Concrete Blonde) vocal stylings the back into that Zeppelin feel again.

Lyrics
I found my Superman
he gets me high
he gets me high
takes me through his universe
thinks he's a simple man
he gets me high
he separates the sky
we'll always be the same
never mind the pain
when you feel naked
stripped down and aching
i'll be around forever
and when you need me
reach down and feel me
don't forget my name
we'll always be the same
never mind the pain
I found my Superman
I found my Superman
I'd like to wear him on the outside
push him through my veins
feel him grow on the inside
take away the shame
take away the shame
take away the shame
take away the shame
I am my Superman
I am my Superman
I am my Superman
I am my Superman
