Story Behind The Song

The writer of Australia!, Richard Fisher, is an Australian citizen by choice, and despite not having been born there, and his need to spend time with his family in England, he is constantly longing to return to Australia, as he feels in his heart an inexplicable love for his adopted country, and is conscious of a weight on his heart, while he is still away. He's just returned from Australia, filming a record of hundreds of Australian colonial homes, particular those known as 'Queenslanders' together with the traditional small towns and villages that Australia has taken steps to preserve as they are for all time. Richard will not stay too long before returning again to a country that haunts his mind throught every single day. A country he loves.

Song Description

There is a sad longing in the hearts of all Australians as they travel around the world, and this song will give them the chance to express what their hearts are feeling, and their intention to return some day and never leave again.
