Story Behind The Song
After five Jazz Rock/Fusion albums I wanted to write a prog rock concept album inspired by my favorite prog rock bands from the 70s. Take Off is the opening track and introduces the story of the person struggling with depression and anxiety who is trying to change their life radically. The decision is made, the mood is hopeful. It's the beginning of a journey.
Song Description
This is the opening track of the concept album Odyssey. The protagonist is excited and nervous after making the decision to break out of the mold. The music is heavily influenced by 70s prog bands.
