Philippians 4:8

Story Behind The Song

I find it easiest to memorize scripture by putting it to music. Seeing a need to memorize Phil. 4:8, that's how this song came to pass. Whenever I am thinking about awful things and catch myself, I start singing this song and focusing on the good things God wants me to think about.

Finally brethren...
Whatsoever is true
Whatever's honorable
Whatever is right
Whatever is pure
Whatever is lovely
Whatever's of good repute
If there is any excellence
And if anything worthy of praise
Let your mind dwell
On these things.

very nice song well done

The song has an overall good feel too it. It definitely falls into the "Old School Country" genre, with the Religious touch added. The overall arrangement was a good. The instrumentation was just enough to give you a feel for the song and allow the vocals to stand out.

I have read that scripture many times. I write from the Bible too. I have never thought of using those verses. One good thing about the Bible is you can use any genre and even the same scripture and have a totally different song. Great job!

The voice captivates right from the outset and hooks the listeners in. Very clear annunciation allows the listeners to easily follow the lyrics . Good scriptural reference for those looking for this, and therefore a good parable in the traditional form. Guitar is clear and sits behind the vocal giving a good platform without distracting from the message

Good vocal nice guitar as well. I liked the flow of the songThis my favorite scripture and I never heard it put to music. Good original idea. I'd love to hear the vocalist in another song. Good luck
Blessings.

A very lovely voice alot of talent waiting to be discovered keep up the good work

A lovely piece of scripture to memorize in a song. Well done.

Very beautiful lead vocals, sounds a lot like Ms. Kate - good lyrics a s well.

There is always market value for any song in the right market and the right place. It reminds me of the older style musical songs and I think it would work great in something like that. Vocal has a quality between Carpenter & Julie Andrews.

Good way to put scripture into song.

Wow! loved it! That song reminds me of a Psalm of David! Its taken straight out of the Bible, its the gospel truth, and its encouraging, and also the answer to this worlds problems in a nutshell!

I like the feel of the song! Bouncy/ simple.. Reminds of sitting around children telling them a story through the song! Very catchy, commercial - like...

Overall pretty good little tune for a song writer demo in this genre
