Story Behind The Song
For years my mother has sent me snipets of poetry and some of her dreams and asked me to turn them into songs. We've written a collection of songs over the years from her ideas.

Lyrics
Just A Simple Tune
Lyrics by Mary Ott and Mary Janet Ott
Music by Mary Ott Copyright 2006
Verse 1
Just a Simple Tune
From across the room
As he sits on his front porch swing.
Years of loneliness,
Since his love has passed,
All dissolve in the mist of their favorite tune.
Chorus:
Now he's young again
And she's by his side
And their watchin' their children play.
Years of promise still
And his heart is filled
With the love that he holds deep inside.
Chase those blues away,
Memories fill his day
And off to the clouds he can fly.
Just a melody but it sets him free
And eases his heart for awhile.
Verse 2;
All his children grown
And he's all alone,
Since his lovely bride passed,
Many Junes ago.
As their favorite tune,
Plays across the room,
All his cares disappear,
For a moment he's there.
Chorus:
And he's young again
And she's by his side
And their watching their children play
Full of promise still
And his heart is filled,
With the love that he holds deep inside.
Chase those blues away
Memories fill his day
And off to the clouds he can fly.
Just a melody but it sets him free
And eases his heart for awhile.
