Story Behind The Song
No real story here. I just like the lyrics alot and, if sung more blues (think Crystal Gayle) the chorus is very pretty and has much more contrast than noted in the demo. The words may seem common place but the chorus pulls it together if sung a certain
Song Description
The singer on this demo has some good ideas but she doesn't have the voice to carry off her version of this song. I also had another version of this song made, but it sounds too "roots" R/B for me. I sing this song "blues" style and its comes to life.

Where Were You
(When the Lights Went Out)
Written By: Lisa A. Courtney
June, 2003
Where were you when the world stopped spinning?
Where were you when the lights went out?
Did you say a prayer?
Or did you even care?
Oh, oh, when the lights went out.
Chorus:
This world is so cold;
It?s so hard to know;
Whether you?re friend or foe.
Oh, Oh!
Where were you when the world stopped spinning?
Where were you when the lights went out?
Did you take some time?
Be a friend of mine.
Oh, Oh, when the lights went out.
Chorus:
This world is so cold;
It?s so hard to know;
If I?ll have you to love,,, and to hold...
Oh, Oh!
Where were you when the world stopped spinning?
Where were you when the lights went out?
When the chips were down;
You were no where to be found.
Oh, oh, when the lights went out.
Chorus:
This world is so cold;
It?s so hard to know;
You were no where to be found;
When the lights went out.
