Story Behind The Song
My co-writer/producer, Ty Roberts, wrote the music in the 80's. It was originally a rock song with different title. I thought of the image of Jesus walking across the water, and of his deciples stressing out in the boat. He was sleeping and they were beside themselves. It seemed like real-life to me, how still we doubt in the midst of the storm. I also thought about the many miracles that still occur, but yet we don't believe they are real. Lastly, I thought of the darkness that surrounds our planet, and how his word is gaining strength and power amidst it.
Basically, Jesus Walking........

Lyrics
Jesus Walking
Chorus:
Jesus walking, across the water
Over the sea, for you and me
Jesus walking, across the water
Over the sea, for you and me
The waves were rising all around them
They were caught out in the storm
He slept, as they watched worried
4 days and nights they struggled on
He said, Believe in me and the miracles that I can perform
Do not be afraid, your faith will lead you back home
Chorus:
Jesus Walking, across the water
Over the sea, for you and me
Jesus Walking, across the water
People look now, can you feel it?
Cause he's coming loud and strong
Bringing light down in the darkness
Where we've been pushing way too long
He can do the same miracles like he did before
Do not be afraid, your faith will lead you back home
Chorus:
Jesus walking, across the water
Over the sea, for you and me
He is walking, across the water
Over the sea, for you and me
Instrumental Break
He said, Believe in me and the miracles that I can perform
Do not fear, your faith will always lead you back home
Chorus:
Jesus walking, across the water
Over the sea, for you and me
Jesus walking, across the water
Over the sea, for you and me
Repeat, repeat, out lead guitar part
