Lyrics

Daddy O

Looking back on a life of woe
Lines of despair on my face it shows
I had a choice of a lighter yoke
But I ignored the words they spoke

My daddy, oh, he loved the Lord
He spoke the Word, the double edged sword
He taught me well, he taught me true
Why do I do the things I do?

Life was good or so I thought
I went against all I was taught
I live my life in my own way
Took the big wide road, not the narrow way

My momma, oh, she loved the Lord
She spoke the Word, the double edged sword
She taught me well, she taught me true
Why do I do the things I do?

Oh happy day, oh happy day
When I am blessed with amazing grace
He said "seek and ye shall find"
Rest in the fold, fruit on the vine

Now I'm alone and on my own
I have no place, I have no home
Nothing to lose, nothing to my name
'Cept rebellion, sin and pain

That preacher, oh, he loves the Lord
He speaks the word, the double edged sword
I'm falling on my knees to pray
Changing my heart, changing my ways
