Story Behind The Song
I co-wrote this with my friend Donal Hinely. We both have had many occasions to drive past a town in Kentucky called Cynthiana. I loved the nam. So we wrote this song which is about the rather mystical love of a soulful woman with the name Cynthina. Donal recorded the song on one of his album releases.

Lyrics
Shenandoah's in her blood
It cuts right through her soul
And in its silt and in its mud
She's made holy she's made whole
Chorus)
Cynthiana lies between
The valley's of my sleep
And she whispers in the dark
Says we are love and we are free
And I've come to believe
With Cynthiana in my heart
She's far away like mountain skies
Untouchable it seems
But here where fortune smiles
She comes down and touches me
ChorusChorus)
Cynthiana lies between
The valley's of my sleep
And she whispers in the dark
Says we are love and we are free
And I've come to believe
With Cynthiana in my heart
Bridge)
Between the waking and the dream
She is always here with me
She is always here
Chorus)
Cynthiana lies between
The valley's of my sleep
And she whispers in the dark
Says we are love and we are free
And I've come to believe
With Cynthiana in my heart
With Cynthiana in my heart
With Cynthiana in my heart
