Story Behind The Song
Writing with my friends Savannah Snow and Kent Agee we were discussing our war stories from the road as musicians in bands. We talked about being spectators from the stage. That was the germination of the song and we borrowed the title from a famous local Nashville landmark. It just fit.

Lyrics
Someone stirs her drink with her finger
Someone light his last cigarette
Strangers share a kiss in the corner
Playing a game of lover's roulette
In their eyes the light of a promise
In the darkness a heart can believe
Chorus:
Every night it's the same
Though the faces may change
The dance begins just where it ends
At the loveless Cafe
The Loveless Cafe
I recall the first night I saw her
She said play "Tonight Carmen" for me
I sang and I watched another man hold her
But she blew me a kiss when he couldn't see
In her eyes the light of a promise
In the darkness my heart could believe
Chorus:
Every night it's the same
Though the faces may change
The dance begins just where it ends
At the loveless Cafe
The Loveless Cafe
Bridge:
Now she's here with somebody new
While I'm singing love songs
That never come true
Chorus:
Every night it's the same
Though the faces may change
The dance begins just where it ends
At the loveless Cafe
The Loveless Cafe
The dance begins just where it ends
At the loveless Cafe
The Loveless Cafe
The Loveless Cafe
