Story Behind The Song
Inspired by the events of 2020, I wanted to write a song asking for change. We chose a Motown sound to embody the songs of the 60s. Montel's vocals really told the story!
Song Description
This song captures the emotions of the recent protests where homes and businesses were destroyed. We need change, just like Sam said, Change is Gonna Come. Fully arranged R&B fusion music.

Lyrics
Change Change Change, Coming down, coming round
Cruising down the road
in my old neighborhood
Weeds grow through the cracks
Where a row of houses stood
Turning the corner
To Mr. Walker's store
Used to be my hang out
Now, it's broken glass and boards
Change, Change, Change
Got a hold on my town
Good to bad, bad to good
Change keeps comin' round.
I slide my window down to shout
"This ain't what we wanted
Gangs made us a 'hood of fear
Still the streets are haunted.
Memories of better times
Brought me back with hope
Searching for reminders
But, all that's here are ghosts Oh, woo, shadows & ghosts, Oh, woo, Oh.
I walked away to get a life
Some never had a choice
Where did they all go?
And Who will be their voice?
Waitin' till the day comes
When everybody sees
Standing strong together
Helps us all be free.
Changing with the times
Let it flow, Let it flow
Good to bad, bad to good
That's the way life goes.
I'd be the first to come back
It's always in my heart
To settle down where I began,
Ready to make a start.
Sam Cooke said it best, Change gonna come - Some back-up here or Choir
Sing his song, Sing along
And, life goes on and on
Life goes on and on, yeah, life goes on and on
