Story Behind The Song
Some friends of mine formed an acoustic band after graduating high school. I originally wrote this song to feature their vocal harmonies. About a year later, I formed my own group in college, and this became not only our featured song, but also the name of the group.

Lyrics
Is it possible to be so blind?
To find that I'm retracing footsteps
leading me through alleyways of time.
Is there any other way to go
without a light to guide me
as I stumble through this labyrinth of love?
Did it really have to be this way?
Was I the one who erred
or was it you who helped me get to where I am?
Tell you what I gotta do right now -
I'll try to find my way back home
and maybe on the morrow try once more.
Cuz ... time is on my side,
and while I'm waiting for my strength to gather,
I can't see no harm in bein' happy.
And though I haven't figured out
a clever way of breaking out,
I'm bound to solve this labyrinth of love.
Have you ever seen a man break down?
That's almost how I ended up
For fear is never knowin' what will be.
But I didn't, and I'll tell you why -
it came to me while gazing
at the shadows of the walls that form this maze.
Suddenly, I knew the reason why,
for glaring disrespectfully
was I, my own worst enemy, alone.
Ego-tripping is a thing of the past,
cuz now I know that pride is something
I can take or leave, and now it's gone.
And ... time is on my side,
and while I'm waiting for my strength to gather,
I can't see no harm in bein' happy.
Cuz, now I know I've figured out
a clever way of breaking out,
and soon I'll this labyrinth of love.
Yes ... time is on my side,
and while I'm waiting for my strength to gather,
I can't see no harm in bein' happy.
Cuz, now I know I've figured out
a clever way of breaking out,
and soon I'll this labyrinth of love.
