Story Behind The Song
Though it sounds like an adult to adult love song, it's actually about my newly-adopted daughter (years ago.) The melodic and musical feel were prompted by her wind-up teddy bear.
Song Description
Simple and brief; A statement of deep contentment to be with a loved one, told in images that are creative but easy to follow. Instrumentation is intentionally spare, acoustic guitar, mandolin, and touches of harmonica.

Lyrics
What Then?
© Charley Sandage
2008
If all the days that ever were were blowing like the leaves before the wind
And I could run and catch just one to be my own, what then?
If all the places on the earth were set upon a magic wheel to spin
And I could reach and take just one to live within, what then?
If all the joy and all the grace and all the good things that have ever been
Were mine to pick and choose among and one would stay, what then?
Then I would spend today right here with you.
