Story Behind The Song
There are two women in my world who lost their husbands rather suddenly, and I am writing a Christian musical, mixing the stories as I saw them, about how these women dealt with those loses. I admire and love them both, and they were both married to wonderful men and each couple had their own great love story.

Perfectly Imperfect Greatest Love Song of All Time
Verse 1: As you wince against the pain, tears spring to my defense,
It's hard to watch or even know the suffering you're in.
How'd our days fly by so fast? How'd we end up here at last?
How in the world will I go on ... the moment that you pass?
Chorus: This isn't where I thought we'd land.
It's just turned out to be the hand dealt for me and you.
We both know what is coming next. Between us now, there's less and less ...
Need to hide the truth. I'll be left behind too soon.
Verse 2: Love is mixed up with the broken, and there's no need to keep hoping...
Perfection really doesn't matter ... now.
But perfection sounds so pretty, and I don't say that for pity ...
As I'm waiting here beside you, will I see God come take His bow?
Bridge: For he made you in His image, and there hasn't been a minute,
That you've broken any vows you made to me in the beginning.
Even when I couldn't see it, you've been all I hoped you'd be ... and ...
For this terribly imperfect perfect family, that's all we need.
Chorus
Verse 3: I think we all know what will come tonight ... the casket, closing, down on life.
It's the young who never visualize goodbye.
But tonight, I'm holding your hand tight, and you're still looking in my eyes.
That's all a love like our would be ... no doubt, could ever find ...
