Lyrics

Holiday Road
Written, produced, and performed by Scott Wilcox

Summer wind down a long country road
Americana blues singin' soft and low
My mind keeps time with the daffodil
To the rhythm and rhyme of a whippoorwill

Up in the Midwest, you'll find a great place to go
You can pick up a guitar and watch the corn grow
Sittin on the front porch sippin on a cup of joe
Way down on Holiday Road

Don't need no Cellphone or wireless internet
But we play a game of Euchre that you never will forget
You get out your guitar and play till the fire glows
Way down on Holiday Road

Chorus
Made in America with some rock and soul
A little bit of Cheesehead with some good ol creole
A little bit of some Motown with some Chicago blues
Then you mix it up with a glass of wine and a bottle of booze
And you got... Holiday Road

Don't need a Ferrari when you got an ATV
If you think your firepit is the hottest place to be
When a hot lookin' pick up sends you into overload
You're down on Holiday Road

If they're callin you a redneck or a hayseed or a hick
Find your way to our place and you'll fit in mighty quick
We'll give you an escort ridin' on the Rhino
Way down on Holiday Road

Chorus

Nice job!! Rockin Blues is the ticket!! Excellent vocals, lead and harmony. Tapping my foot keeping time and enjoying it!! Lyrics are excellent. Keep up the great work!! Definite potential here!

LOVED THE CCR FEEL. NASTY NASTY GROOVE. WELL PLAYED SUNG AND RECORDED.

Great groove great vocal good lyric

Loved this! Definitely painted a picture. Thought the vocals were dead on including the back ups. Guitar playing was solid as was the arrangement. Great keys....

I like the minimalist beginning that then takes off... tamborine and guitar strum rhythms are fun

The music and intro was intriguing. When it went in to the faster part, it sparked my interest enough to keep listening. Good vocals!!! The lyrics had some good lines and were cool for a non-commercial style of writing.

This song is very good!!.. I can see this song sitting high on the Americana Charts!!

Great vocal, groove, arrangement. Good hook. Voice is very distinctive!

nicely done. Enjoyed it.

very well written and very well performed. Love the way you start the song out with a prelude intro before getting into the primary song melody. this is reminiscent of the old standards Broadway show tune structures from the 1940's, but it works extremely well here with a contemporary country Americana song.

awesome voice, nice flow

well recorded vocal, rich sounding with just the right amount of reverb.
Groovy and fun

Liked the opening quite a bit. Strong lyrics.

Love the intro. singing is excellent throughout.
