Lyrics

'Over the Hill' © words and music by Mark S. Ludes (MSL)

Younger generation says, 'Man that guy is getting old'
'And look how that women's hair is turning gray'
Be careful what you talk about - if you're gonna be so bold
'Cos every one of us - gets older every day.
V.1
Well we're all getting older, every single day
Everybody says 'just take a pill.'
Don't like to think about it, don't care what they have to say,
And now they're telling me "I'm over the hill".

V.2
Can you tell me what the heck they're talkin' about. Tell me just what's over the hill.
Is it some kind of home away from home?
Where the grass is always greener and where you go to find some thrills.
Guess you gotta make it to the top, before you know.
Well...
Chorus:
Over the hill I go, I'll take that little trip.
Just put me out to pasture and hand me my pink slip.
Over the hill let the minutes tick away,
What the heck, whose life is this anyway?

Bridge:
Younger generation says, 'Man that guy is getting old'
'And look how that women's hair is turning gray'
Be careful what you talk about - if you're gonna be so bold
'Cos every one of us - gets older every day.

Repeat Chorus: So...
Over the hill I go, I'll take that little trip.
Just put me out to pasture and hand me my pink slip.
Over the hill let those minutes tick away,
What the heck, whose life is this anyway?
Who's life, is this anyway?

Love the beat and the sound, love the instruments, Lyrics are very good, might just be me but in some parts couldn't quite catch the lyrics but they flow and fit the music well. Great vocals, very good song, and a song that would get me moving in a happy way.

Great song. I loved the drums and the beat. Also a very true, and real sentiment. Great job.

Nice and tight, with an Elvis vibe right out of the box. Nice and easy, and easy-to-understand vocal line. I like the instrumentation and vocal; production is excellent. I especially like the bass lines and drum kit production; that helps with that tightness. Nice tune!

Instrumentals are great.

Good writing

I loved the rock Country vibe and so true we all are getting older. It is nice that you made a fun song about it. I loved the beat and the music. It was a fun hook that you had there. I enjoyed listening to it.

Nice song with some clever lyrics. The instruments is a bit loud in comparison for the vocals. Great guitar work!

The vocals are very good. The harmonies are nice. This song has a nice catchy tune to it. The rhythm was nice and tight. I like the guitar tone. I like the bass boogie, it is different and catchy sounding. Nice song, keep it up.

Nice idea.....love the tag line.."Who's life is this anyway"....that really brought the song together.
Interesting departure in the bridge...heavy bass influence pushing hard....
