Story Behind The Song
"Spirit of Love" was penned by Lynn on December 9th, 2016, during a very sad time in her life - while her beloved father was dying of dementia/Alzheimer's and other health issues. With so much heartache in her life, Lynn was determined to write something joyful for what was to be her father's last musical Christmas present from his songwriter daughter. The result was the heartfelt "Spirit of Love". Besides having an incredibly catchy sing-along chorus hook, the lyrics do something unique - they give a shout-out not only to Christmas, but also Hanukkah, Yuletide and Kwanzaa. This universal holiday song promotes love, unity and a "we are all one" spirit as its central theme and is the perfect sing-along holiday song during these troubled times of division in the world. "Spirit of Love" would also be a great choice for teachers to share and teach to students at the holidays because of its easy to remember and sing hook, its inclusive theme and its ability to spark discussion and learning about different ways people celebrate the holidays. Although Lynn wrote, recorded, mixed, mastered and released a video of the song to YouTube in an impressive 12 short days on December 21, 2016, she intentionally did not release it to iTunes as a commercially available single as it is her desire to have the song recorded for the 2017 holiday season by a major label artist so that it reaches the largest possible audience. Lynn is the 100% songwriter of "Spirit of Love" and controls all publishing rights at this time. She is also interested in licensing opportunities for this fresh and very accessible family-friendly holiday song.
